What is Eduviai and how does it work?

Eduviai is an independent education platform that helps international students and families explore and compare UK schools — from early-years education through to university pathways. You create a profile, tell us about the student’s academic background and preferences, and receive AI-assisted school suggestions based on the information provided and the school data available on the platform. Families can then compare options and contact schools directly where this feature is available.

Is Eduviai free to use?

Some Eduviai information and platform features may be available without charge. Paid plans, digital products and optional support services are priced separately. See our pricing page for current availability, inclusions and applicable terms.

How do I create an account?

Click Login / Register in the top right corner. You can sign up with your email address. Once registered, you'll complete a short profile quiz about your child's age, academic background, preferred location, and budget — this takes about 5 minutes and powers our AI matching.

What age groups does Eduviai support?

We support five levels of UK education: Pre-Prep & Prep (ages 4–13, including boarding from age 7), Senior School (ages 13–16, GCSEs), Sixth Form (ages 16–18, A-Levels/IB), Undergraduate (18+), and Postgraduate (Master's, MBA, PhD). Our AI adapts the matching criteria, questionnaire, and school database for each level.

Can parents and students both use the platform?

Absolutely. For younger students (pre-prep through senior school), parents typically manage the account and complete the profile. The platform captures both parent priorities (safety, pastoral care, budget) and student preferences (sports, activities, location) to produce balanced recommendations. Older students can manage their own accounts independently.

Which languages does Eduviai support?

The platform is available in English and Mandarin Chinese. Our support team can assist you in both languages via email, live chat, WeChat, and WhatsApp.

How does the AI matching engine work?

Our matching engine analyses your child's profile — academic performance, extracurricular interests, preferred location, budget, and personal preferences — and compares it against our database of 200+ UK schools. It scores each school across multiple dimensions (academic fit, activities, pastoral care, cost, location) and produces a ranked list with detailed explanations of why each school is a strong match.

What does the matching score (e.g. 94%) mean?

The match score reflects how well a school aligns with your child's specific profile and your family's priorities. A 94% match means the school scores highly across nearly all the dimensions that matter to you. The score breaks down into sub-scores (Academic Fit, Activities Fit, Pastoral Care, etc.) so you can see exactly where a school excels and where it may fall short.

Can I improve my matching results?

Yes — the more detailed your profile, the better the results. Make sure you've filled in all fields, including extracurricular activities, language abilities, and specific preferences like boarding type or campus setting. You can update your profile at any time and the AI will regenerate your matches instantly.

Does Eduviai favour certain schools over others?

School suggestions are based on the preferences entered by the user and the school information available on the platform. Families should use the results as a starting point for further research and comparison. Any sponsored or promoted content, where displayed, will be clearly labelled.

How many schools will I be matched with?

The number of school suggestions available depends on your selected criteria, the school information currently available and the features included in the plan or service you are using. Broader preferences may produce more options, while highly specific requirements may result in fewer suggestions.

When should I start the application process?

It depends on the level. For UK boarding prep schools, many families begin 12–18 months before the entry date. For senior school entry at 13+ (Year 9), registration often opens 2–3 years in advance at competitive schools. For sixth form, applications typically open in September for entry the following September. University applications through UCAS open in May with deadlines in January (October for Oxbridge). We recommend starting your research on Eduviai as early as possible.

What documents do I need to apply?

Requirements vary by school and level, but typically include: recent school reports/transcripts, a passport copy, a personal statement or reference letter, and English language test results (if applicable). How do school fees work? Does Eduviai charge on top?

School tuition, boarding, deposits and other school charges are set by the relevant institution and are normally paid according to the school’s own instructions. Charges for Eduviai plans, digital products or optional support services are displayed separately. School fees shown on Eduviai are provided for general comparison and should be confirmed directly with the school before payment.

What is the CAS letter and when will I receive it?

The CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is an electronic reference number issued by your school once you've accepted their offer and met all conditions. You need it to apply for your student visa. Schools typically issue the CAS 3–6 months before the course start date. You can track CAS status directly on your Eduviai dashboard.

How much money do I need to show for the visa application?

What types of UK schools are on Eduviai?

What is the difference between GCSE, A-Level, and IB?

GCSEs are the standard qualifications taken at age 14–16 (Years 10–11). A-Levels are the traditional UK university preparation qualification taken at 16–18 — students typically study 3–4 subjects in depth. The IB (International Baccalaureate) is a broader programme covering 6 subjects plus a core, popular with international students. Both A-Levels and IB are accepted by all UK universities. Can my child start boarding school at age 7?

Yes — several UK prep schools offer boarding from age 7 (Year 3). Some offer flexi-boarding (a few nights per week) as a gentle introduction.
